EMCF helps nonprofits making a real difference in the lives of economically disadvantaged young people in the U.S. realize their potential to make an even bigger difference.
On December 13, 2016, EMCF announced plans to spend all of its resources over the next decade to expand and sustain the impact of its grantmaking strategies. To learn more, read “Our Next Chapter”. [Please direct any questions regarding the Foundation’s announcement to firstname.lastname@example.org.]
With this decision, the Foundation will continue its grantmaking through three distinct but related strategies:
The Foundation’s core Youth Development Fund concentrates on helping high-performing youth-serving nonprofits achieve greater impact. Although it continues to work with its current grantees, it has ceased adding new organizations to its portfolio.
PropelNext helps promising nonprofits, often at an earlier stage of organizational development, improve their collection and use of data to produce better outcomes for youth. PropelNext is exploring supporting, in partnership with other funders, additional grantees in new cohorts.
Blue Meridian Partners, a collaboration of 12 philanthropic institutions and individuals incubated at EMCF, invests up to $100-$200 million to scale individual high-performing nonprofits poised to have a national impact on children and young people, ages 0-30. If you believe your organization and your plans for growth might be a promising fit for Blue Meridian Partners, we encourage you to complete our brief Youth Organizations Survey Form.
Blue Meridian Partners and PropelNext do not accept unsolicited proposals, but they are eager to learn about your organization if it is:
- A stand-alone nonprofit 501(c)(3) with a history of service to youth from low-income communities in the U.S.
- Financially viable, with a budget greater than $1,000,000.
As noted above, EMCF does not accept unsolicited proposals and will not be making investments in youth-serving organizations outside these principal grantmaking strategies.
Rather, we invite nonprofits meeting the above criteria to fill out our Youth Organizations Survey Form. The information you share will be added to our national database and available as we continue to explore investment opportunities for Blue Meridian Partners and PropelNext.
Before completing this form, we strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with the information about Blue Meridian Partners and PropelNext on this website and/or PropelNext’s to make sure your goals and theirs are complementary.
Due to the volume of inquiries we receive, we cannot respond individually to each survey form or consider requests for follow-up meetings or calls. We will carefully review all the information you submit, but we will follow up with you only if we determine that your organization is highly likely to achieve the grantmaking goals of Blue Meridian Partners or PropelNext.
We regret that many worthy organizations doing important work with children and youth, even some that offer compelling opportunities for investment, will not hear back from us.
