EMCF invests in nonprofits that lift the life prospects of vulnerable youth who are the hardest to reach, with the greatest obstacles to overcome on their way to productive adulthood.
The 11 grantees currently in our Youth Development Fund have compelling evidence they help these youth get an education, hold a job, and stay out of trouble. In 2015, Youth Development Fund grantees served more than 300,000 young people, ages 9-24, in 48 states, Washington, DC and Puerto Rico.
As a General Partner of Blue Meridian Partners, which aims to invest at least $1 billion in scaling nonprofits poised to have a national impact on economically disadvantaged children and youth, EMCF has collaborated in initial investments in five high-performing organizations.
EMCF also supports, in partnership with four California-based foundations, 15 organizations in that state as part of its PropelNext initiative to help nonprofits improve their collection and use of data to produce better outcomes for youth.
