In October 2018, EMCF announced that the Foundation’s staff and operations will transition in 2019 to Blue Meridian Partners, Inc., the collaborative philanthropic investment vehicle that EMCF helped found and incubated.
With this decision, the Foundation is concentrating on completing its grantmaking through three distinct but related strategies:
- The Foundation’s core Youth Development Fund, which helps high-performing youth-serving nonprofits achieve greater impact.
Blue Meridian Partners is assuming responsibility for helping EMCF fulfill its commitments and complete its work with Youth Development Fund grantees over the next three to four years as the Foundation winds down its activities. It is no longer soliciting or reviewing inquiries or information from grantseekers.
- PropelNext, which helps promising nonprofits, often at an earlier stage of organizational development, improve their collection and use of data to produce better outcomes for youth.
PropelNext launched a new cohort in Northern California in fall 2018, and EMCF is seeking a new home for the initiative that will carry on its work and innovate its program model. Please visit propelnext.org for more information.
- Blue Meridian Partners, a partnership of results-oriented philanthropists incubated at EMCF, seeks to transform the life trajectories of children and youth living in poverty in the U.S. by helping to scale up the most promising strategies poised to make a national impact.
In October 2018, Blue Meridian Partners announced its plans to become an independent enterprise and embark on a new phase of growth, expanding its capital base and its portfolio of grantees capable of delivering results at national scale.
Please visit bluemeridian.org for more information about its selection criteria and how to access its brief Interest Survey. The information shared through this form will be added to Blue Meridian's national database of potential investment opportunities.
