MDRC

EMCF frequently engages MDRC, a prominent developer and evaluator of interventions to improve the lives of low-income Americans, to help grantees strengthen their evidence base.

MDRC has helped eight of the 12 True North Fund grantees develop evaluation plans, and has undertaken their evaluations. It is also assisting other EMCF grantees with planning and conducting evaluations, and learning from their findings how to improve their programs.

MDRC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan education and social policy research organization dedicated to learning what works to improve programs and policies that affect the poor. It designs and studies new approaches to the problems confronting public education; low-income children, families and communities; and low-wage workers and people with serious barriers to employment.
