Who We Are

Woody McCutchen

Woodrow "Woody" McCutchen became Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager in 2010. He has more than 25 years of experience in small business management and technical assistance, and in economic, business and youth development. Before joining as a portfolio manager in 2001, he was president and CEO of the National Association of Small Business Development Centers in Arlington, VA. The grantees with which he initially worked at the Foundation included national organizations and Harlem Children’s Zone. While continuing to lead relationships with key grantees, including several for which EMCF has aggregated major growth capital, he has also assumed responsibilities for managing relations with many co-investors and for conducting policy work.

McCutchen earned an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business, and a bachelor's degree from Howard University.

Nine Organizations Selected to Receive Social Innovation Fund Awards

The Edna McConnell Clark Foundation is investing up to $42 million over three years in nine organizations whose evidence-based programs promise to transform the life trajectories of thousands of low-income youth. In support of these grantees, the Foundation is establishing the True North Fund to leverage public money from the SIF and private money from the EMCF and institutional and individual philanthropic partners to effectively capitalize and expand programs that can serve more vulnerable young people.
