Nineteen co-investors have joined Edna McConnell Clark Foundation and the board of directors of Nurse-Family Partnership, Youth Villages, and Citizen Schools to support the dramatic expansion of services for young people shown to improve the life trajectories of economically disadvantaged youth and young adults. Her latest update, EMCF President Nancy Roob discusses the progress made so far by the Foundation through its Growth Capital Aggregation Pilot. This effort is a new collaborative approach to aggregating growth capital up-front in order to support the dramatic expansion of three successful grantees. If successful, the three organizations are poised to reach a scale that will help solve some of our nation's most intractable social–and human–problems. Read Nancy's column (June 2008)
