Wendy’s Wonderful Kids’ method of child-focused recruitment is far more successful than traditional adoption services. A five-year, rigorous national evaluation Child Trends completed in 2011 found that:
- Children the program served were 1.7 times more likely to be adopted.
- Older children and children with mental health issues were three times more likely to be adopted.
FUTURE EVALUATION PLANS
Child Trends is conducting a study assessing the longer-term well-being of children adopted through WWK. Initial findings are expected in early 2018 and will provide some of the only data available for post-adoption results in the child welfare sector.
