Youth Organizations Survey Form

The Edna McConnell Clark Foundation continually seeks new opportunities to support youth development organizations that can benefit from our grantmaking strategy. EMCF makes significant and long-term investments in a select group of high-performing youth-serving nonprofits whose programs have been proven to produce positive outcomes for young people (ages 9-24) from low-income communities and which have the potential for growth.

We are always interested in learning about organizations that may be compatible with our work and about the services they provide to young people. We invite organizations (as well as individuals familiar with them) to review our eligibility criteria and, if warranted, complete the survey below.

Based on the information submitted, we regularly assess organizations in a competitive process that compares them to other potential grantees we are considering and determines whether they may align with our grantmaking strategy.

Organizations that have submitted information to us more than six months previously should feel free to update and resubmit information using this form.

Please note: The Foundation will contact your organization only if we feel there is enough compatibility to warrant a closer look at your programs, leadership, and overall operations.We cannot answer questions by phone, email, fax, or regular mail about the status of survey responses under review.

Eligibility Criteria

The Foundation works exclusively with youth development organizations across the United States that serve low-income young people. To be considered as a potential grantee, an organization must:

  • be a stand-alone nonprofit with a history of service to young people (ages 9-24) from low-income communities in the United States;
  • be interested in and capable of increasing its capacity to serve more youth;
  • demonstrate a commitment to using data to improve program delivery and measure the impact of its services on the lives of their recipients;
  • be financially viable, with a budget greater than $500,000, and
  • have evidence it is achieving outcomes for youth in at least one of the following three areas:
    1. Improved educational skills, achievement, and attainment;
    2. Preparation for economic success and making a transition to employment and self-sufficiency;
    3. Avoidance of high-risk behaviors (teenage pregnancy, substance abuse and/or involvement in criminal behavior/juvenile justice system).

If your organization meets these five criteria, we invite you to share more about your organization by completing the survey below. For those unfamiliar with the Foundation's grantmaking approach, we encourage you to learn more about our strategy here.
