She is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and best practices that improve organizational effectiveness, operational excellence, management and employee performance, the development and retention of high performers, employee commitment, and business results.
Before joining the Foundation in 2012, she was Human Resources Manager at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. Previously she held supervisory human resources positions at Hilton Hotels Corporation and Marriott International.
She has chaired human resources groups for Philanthropy NY and earned advanced human resources certifications from Villlanova University and HR Certification Institute.
Makowski earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from Rutgers University.
